"Laura attended the birth of our daughter in September 2008. Laura was wonderful before, during and after the birth. I was 11 days overdue with my daughter and desperately wanted to have her at the birth center. Laura spent the morning before my 41 week mark running a hypnotherapy and acupressure session with me to see if we could get things moving. Since that was the cutoff for the birth center. It was a wonderfully relaxing morning and I was grateful for the time Laura spent with me to work towards my goal of a birth center birth.

My water finally broke on September 29, 2008 at 4:30am and Laura rejoiced with us since I was going to consent to induction that day if nothing happened. Laura called and checked in with me or us with her throughout the long day. We checked in to TMC at 9pm on the 29th and Laura arrived 20 minutes later with a big smile and her bag of tricks. Laura settled my husband and me on the birth ball with a massager and got my music playing. After about an hour I was placed back on the monitors. We were very committed to a natural birth experience and Laura was behind us 100%. I was kept on continuous monitoring throughout my labor and Laura knew every trick in the book to support me during my contractions. She supported me with massage, acupressure, aromatherapy, and loving support. She kept the rice bags warm the juice cold and was a calm presence through it all. My husband and I are convinced even to this day that Laura was the best thing to happen to us in the delivery room second only to our beautiful baby girl.

My birth experience was not physically what I had chosen for myself but Laura helped to support us physically and emotionally through it all. Laura stayed with us after the birth and assisted in breastfeeding to the best the situation would allow. Laura also took wonderful photos in the delivery room after the birth, checked up with me both at the hospital and at home via telephone. Laura then came for one final visit where she presented us with our Birth Story to treasure always and helped us to see the wonderful aspects of our birth experience. Thank you Laura for everything!"
